Sea to Sky – Squamish

Ok people I’m sorry that I’ve been so quiet lately – lots of changes are happening (more on that later), and I’ve been trying to enjoy being outside with all of our amazing weather – thus blogging has really fallen off the giant to-do list.

So often I focus on the local (lower mainland) free hikes that we enjoy, but a few months ago we had the opportunity to go ride the Sea-To-Sky Gondola with some dear friends. It was a great day, with some amazing trails, and fantastic mushrooms! The base of the Gondola is just east of the Chief and a few km’s before Squamish. It is so worth the scenic drive, and totally worth taking the Gondola!

We walked both the Spirit Trail and the Lookback trail – both are simple trails, and do not take long to walk! There was no snow when we hiked the trails, and they were still full of mushrooms, and lush vegetation.

The clouds parted briefly that morning and the view of the inlet was breathtaking. In fact, there were many opportunities on the hike to see surrounding mountains and landscape, that even the kids enjoyed!

The trails are stroller accessible, and also not to challenging for little legs. The upper lodge has a full cafeteria and great bathrooms. There are many opportunities for bigger hikes around the area check out their website for more details!
